.ma or .com: which domain should you choose?
A decision made in two minutes and kept for ten years. What matters, and what does not.

What the extension actually changes
A country extension like .ma says unambiguously that the business serves the Moroccan market. For a shop, a practice or a brand selling in Morocco, that is a proximity signal a visitor reads before they even click.
A .com says nothing about your country, which is a drawback if you are local and an advantage if you are not. It remains the most familiar extension in the world, the one people type by reflex when memory fails.
How to decide with one question
Ask yourself where your customers will be in five years, not today.
- Morocco only, and staying that way: .ma is the better choice. It reassures, it locates you, and it is still widely available.
- Morocco and abroad: take the .com as your primary address and hold the .ma defensively, redirected to it.
- Mostly exporting: .com, without hesitation. A country extension can put off a buyer who assumes you cannot serve them.
What should not enter the decision
You often read that a country extension "ranks better". That is too simple: it helps a search engine understand which country you address, which matters for local searches, but it replaces neither content, nor speed, nor reputation.
An empty .ma will rank behind a useful .com. The extension points; it does not carry the site.
What matters regardless of which you pick
Three rules matter more than the extension debate. The domain must be registered in your name, not your supplier’s — it is the one digital asset you cannot rebuild. It must be short and dictatable over the phone. And only one version should be served: with or without www, over HTTPS, everything else redirected.
That last point is the one most often forgotten: serving the same site on four different addresses splits your signals and creates duplicate content with yourself.
And at Noor Studio Agency?
The domain is registered in the client’s name, never ours, and every site we deliver serves exactly one canonical address.
