Case study — Marble and granite · Casablanca

Brothers Marbles

Marble and granite are chosen on the material itself: the veining, the tone, the grain, the way light sits on it. A page of text does not sell stone. The site had to show the material itself, then connect it to the projects it ends up in.

The challenge

Marble and granite are chosen on the material itself: the veining, the tone, the grain, the way light sits on it. A page of text does not sell stone. The site had to show the material itself, then connect it to the projects it ends up in.

The strategy

The promise was settled before the design: “Marbre & Granit, de la matière aux projets” — marble and granite, from material to projects — with “savoir-faire marocain pour des lieux d’exception” underneath. The rest of the page follows from it: the stone first, what it becomes second.

The design

The identity starts from the house’s own monogram, a gold B and M set inside a hexagon. Unlike the studio’s other projects, the palette is light: a cream ground close to polished stone, a high-contrast black serif for headings, and the monogram’s gold as the only accent colour. The marble is the brightest thing on the page; the interface stays out of its way.

The development

The site was built and published on the house’s own domain, brothersmarbles.ma. The homepage opens on a full-width photograph of the quarry and the stone-cutting work, with the headline set on the light half of the image rather than over a scrim laid on top of the photograph.

A craft to put online?

A material sells by being shown: the quarry, the cutting, the finished installation. The first call is about what your trade needs to show first.
