Local SEO in Morocco
"Near me" has become the most commercial search there is. Here is what decides who shows up.

Local search is a separate ranking
The local block — the map and three businesses — does not follow the same rules as the classic results. You can rank first nationally and be absent from the local block in your own neighbourhood.
That means two separate pieces of work — and for a shop or a practice, the second usually pays off faster than the first.
What your website has to contribute
The business listing does a lot, but not everything. Your site has to confirm, in a machine-readable way, where you are and what you do.
- Contact details as text, not an image. Name, address and phone must be readable and exactly identical to the listing.
- Structured data describing the business, its location and its hours — and matching what the visitor actually sees.
- A page per city you genuinely serve, each with its own content. Duplicating a page and swapping the city name is detected and ranks nothing.
- A fast mobile site. Local searches happen standing up, in the street, on mobile data.
Businesses without a shopfront
Many Moroccan businesses serve several cities from one office: a studio in Rabat working for clients in Casablanca, a tradesperson who travels, a practice seen by appointment.
The rule is simple and worth honouring: declare one address, the real one, and describe the other cities as areas served. Inventing an address in every city you target is the fastest-punished mistake in local SEO, and the most tempting.
Reviews are not decoration
Volume, freshness and regularity of reviews affect local ranking, and affect the decision to call even more. A business with twelve recent reviews inspires more confidence than one with forty from three years ago.
Ask for them systematically, at the right moment — right after a successful delivery — and reply to each. And never buy them: fake reviews get spotted, and cost you the whole listing.
And at Noor Studio Agency?
Noor Studio is based in Rabat and works with clients in Casablanca, Marrakech and Tangier. We declare one address, ours, and present the other cities as areas served — exactly what this article recommends.
