Working with a Moroccan web studio from abroad.

Close time zones, shared languages and a growing digital scene: more European and international companies work with studios in Morocco. Here is how to make it work well.

Morocco sits a short flight from Europe, close to European time zones for much of the year, with teams that often work in French, English and Arabic. For companies abroad, a Moroccan studio can be a natural partner for design and development. Like any remote collaboration, it works best with a clear frame.

Start with a clear brief

Distance makes ambiguity expensive. Write down your goals, your audience, the pages you need, the features, the deadlines and how you will judge success. A good studio will challenge the brief and help you complete it before quoting.

Agree on how you will work

  • One point of contact on each side.
  • A regular rhythm: a weekly call, a shared board, written summaries.
  • Staging links to review work in progress, not just final screenshots.
  • A shared channel for quick questions, and clear response times.

Protect the essentials

  • A written agreement covering scope, timeline, payment stages and what happens if plans change.
  • Ownership: the code, the design files and the domain should be yours at the end.
  • Access: your own accounts for hosting, analytics and domains, with the studio invited, not the reverse.
  • Documentation and a handover, so another team could take over if needed.

Judge by the work

Look at live projects, not only mock-ups. Test them on your phone. Ask how they handle speed, accessibility and search. Ask to speak to a past client if you can.

Good remote work feels close: clear words, regular updates, no surprises.
