Measuring your website, with your visitors’ consent.

Analytics tells you what works. Privacy rules and visitor expectations say you should ask first. Done well, the two go together.
Without measurement, a website is a guess: you do not know where visitors come from, which pages work or which campaigns bring customers. But tracking people without telling them damages trust, and privacy rules in many countries require clear information and, often, consent.
Know the rules that apply
In Morocco, law 09-08 governs the processing of personal data, under the supervision of the CNDP. If you have visitors in the European Union, the GDPR and cookie rules may apply too. Requirements differ by situation, so check with a qualified adviser, but the common ground is to inform visitors and respect their choice.
Ask clearly
- A consent banner that explains in plain words what is measured and why.
- Accept and decline buttons with the same weight.
- Nothing that tracks visitors loaded before they choose.
- A way to change their mind at any time, from every page.
Measure what helps decisions
- Where visitors come from: search, social, ads, partners.
- Which pages lead to enquiries or sales.
- Enquiries themselves: forms, calls, WhatsApp clicks.
- Search performance, through Search Console, which does not use tracking cookies on your site.
Keep the setup tidy
Tools like Google Tag Manager let you manage tracking tags in one place. Install each tool only once, document what is tracked, and remove what you no longer use. Mention every tool in your privacy policy.
Visitors who trust you are worth more than any extra data point.
